Fortress Interlocks wins Queen’s Award for International Trade

Fortress Interlocks, a UK-based supplier of automation safety and interlock systems, has been awarded with its third Queen’s Award for International Trade. The award demonstrates substantial growth in overseas earnings relative to business size and sector.
The Midlands-based company provides solutions for industrial applications. Its products rangers are compliant with the latest machinery safety standards and independently-approved by TUV.
“Our business strategy is based on innovative customisation, creating robust solutions to allow our customers protect their employees and productivity, while our competitors have gone down a route of standardisation,” said Jo Smith, Managing Director of Fortress Interlocks.
In 2016/17, the company’s total sales were £22.5 million with export sales accounting for £18.3 million. Sales have grown by over 62% in the last three years.
