NPC introduces upgraded chisels for hydraulic pile croppers

National Pile Cropper has introduced a new range of hardened steel chisels designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and performance of its hydraulic pile croppers.

As part of National Pile Cropper (NPC) continuous R&D programme in making its hydraulic pile croppers more efficient, safer, customer focused and productive, the company has announced that all its croppers are now fitted with the next generation of chisels. These have been designed and manufactured using stronger and longer lasting steel to help deliver even greater levels of safety, efficiency, and performance.

Since the company’s formation, NPC has justifiably been proud of continuously looking at ways to improve the safety, quality and performance of its equipment. These developments have included new versions of the NPC MultiBar, CFA and Quad croppers over the last 12 months. Continuing this proud development programme, NPC has now announced that it has improved the design, manufacture, and operating performance of the chisels fitted to the croppers.

“We’ve literally addressed the cutting edge with the new chisels,” says company director Lee Aston. “It doesn’t matter how good the croppers are if they don’t cut through the concrete. Using a new design and face hardened steel has resulted in all our croppers now being fitted with chisels that cut more effectively, efficiently, productively and safely.”

The new range of specifically in house manufactured chisels have been designed with the purpose to not only penetrate the concrete pile, but to leave a perfect finish with little or no tidying up. The new chisels effectively break up the concrete into pieces, and furthermore, the cropped unit can then easily be lifted off the pile enabling the removal and recycling of the cut away concrete in a safe manner.

The new chisels used on NPC’s hydraulic pile croppers have been subject to extensive field testing. Croppers with the new chisels are now available for hire or purchase throughout the UK and are being introduced globally. “It is intended to update the entire product range in the coming months in order to meet ever developing customer requirements. This will enable customers to benefit not only from industry leading customer service and hydraulic pile croppers, but also from cutting edge technology,” concludes Lee Aston.
