World Cement,
Illinois-based chain manufacturer, Cobalt Chains, has broken ground on an expansion to the company’s headquarters in East Peoria. The expansion will increase the size of Cobalt’s manufacturing space by about a third, allowing for the expansion of in-house fabrication capabilities.
A second robotic welder will also be installed as part of the expansion project, while larger storage space will allow the company to keep more stock on hand, reducing delivery times.
“We continually strive to better serve our customers,” said Chris Robinson, President of Cobalt Chains. “By increasing the size of our facility, we will be able to exactly that by keeping more products on hand and offering quicker turn-around times.”
In addition, the expansion will provide a basis for the company to grow in international markets, Robinson added. “Cobalt Chains has developed a solid North American market, but a larger shop will allow us to better serve clients here and anywhere in the world, while helping to secure the future of the company.”
Cobalt Chains suppliers a range of industries, including the cement and construction markets, offering in-house fabrication of chain, chain attachments, and sprockets.
