Prometheus Group and SMEC announce new partnership

Prometheus Group and SMEC have formed a global partnership combining Prometheus Group’s enterprise asset management software with SMEC’s asset management consulting group. The partnership will initially focus on the cement and aggregates industry and other asset intensive verticals.

The Australian cement and aggregates has spent over $1 billion on new projects and upgrades over the past decade. Many of these upgrades have been related to technological advancements designed to lower environmental impacts. Given the need for these major asset management and improvement programmes, when it comes to increasing the life of assets, and planning shutdowns and maintenance in the cement and aggregates industry, real-time collaboration is required. The Prometheus Group and SMEC partnership will provide not only the tools to improve asset performance but also the processes to drive sustainable improvement in asset care for cement and aggregates producers.

SMEC’s asset management services are complemented by extensive engineering expertise, allowing asset management solutions to be developed and incorporated into every stage of a cement and aggregate project’s lifecycle: planning, design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance and decommissioning phases.

Together, Prometheus Group and SMEC will identify and develop process improvement needs across an enterprise platform, improve production and asset reliability while enabling enterprise-wide roll-out of standardised process improvements for the Australian cement and aggregates sector throughout the Australia and Asia regions.

On 23 February – 3 March 2015, the companies will debut their partnership in a roadshow throughout Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Kuala Lumpur.
