Kollmorgen to showcase new servo amplifier

Kollmorgen will be revealing its new generation of AKD servo amplifiers at sps ipc drives in Nuremberg. At the show, which takes place from 22 – 24 November, the company will unveil the new second-generation AKD servo amplifier concept.
Kollmorgen is keen to emphasise the contribution of its servo drive technology to safety technology during the event, where the brand new AKD2G servo amplifier will make its trade fair debut. The new range is planned for launch in 2017. . It features new processors that increase the computational power available to support faster control performance. From a safety perspective, the AKD2G amplifier will offer important safety functions in the form of Safe Brake Control (SBC) and Safe Brake Test (SBT), which offers an efficient and cost-effective way of making vertical axes safe without the need for protective fences.
