World Cement,
Dyckerhoff Beton, a division of Buzzi Unicem, delivered more than 2000 m3 of concrete last month to Bickhardt Bau for a bridge restoration project.
The bridge measures 130 m long and consists of four sections that form a single, continuous span over the roundabout where it is located.
The concrete pour was a big project, with concrete coming from two plants using a fleet of 14 truck-mixers that were all in use at the same time. It started at 6pm on 4 July and continued through to 6 pm the following day.
The roundabout was closed to traffic while the class C 45/55 concrete was pumped at height by means of two pumps. The consistency of the concrete was constantly monitored both at the plants and on site. The CEM III/A 42.5N cement in the concrete was produced at Dyckerhoff’s Amöneburg plant.
