Allison Transmission presents fully automatic concrete mixer

World Cement,

Allison Transmission presented a MAN Constellation 26.280 6x4 equipped with a 3000 Series™ fully automatic transmission and a Liebherr Brasil concrete mixer body at the 9th annual Concrete Show South America (26 – 28 August 2015). The Concrete Show South America is one of the world’s most important civil construction events, being the largest in Latin America and the second largest in the world. Attendees can view a complete range of solutions aimed specifically at the sector, as well as displays for structural projects, advanced technologies for the concrete production chain, servicing and finishing. All aim to optimise construction productivity and costs.

The truck, which was displayed on the Liebherr Brasil stand at the show, was developed in partnership with MAN Latin America and Liebherr Brasil, both of which are leading global manufacturers that can develop customised solutions to fit customer specifications.

"The collaboration between Allison Transmission, MAN Latin America and Liebherr Brasil has resulted in a concrete mixer truck that will exceed fleet owners' expectations," said Antonio Carlos Novaes, Allison Transmission's marketing manager for South America. "The market will welcome this rugged, agile vehicle, qualities that help increase productivity and profitability, leading factors in a company’s bottom line.”

Fleet owners worldwide are choosing to use Allison fully automatic transmissions as standard equipment, as the concrete mixers accelerate faster than those with manual or automated manual transmissions, and can sustain higher average speeds. They also offer better manoeuvring of difficult terrain and in tight spaces, with Allison's Continuous Power Technology™ providing smooth, seamless shifts, which means uninterrupted power and torque from the engine to the driving wheels. This allows for faster trips, higher productivity and increased profitability. Additionally, eliminating the manual clutch system results in substantially less vehicle and drive train wear. The result is lower maintenance cost and increased vehicle downtime.
