UNTHA introduces new XR shredder model range

UNTHA’s new XR model range offers a large number of new features. The robust drive concept – UNTHA Eco Drive – ensures up to 50% less energy consumption compared to other commonly available electro-hydraulic drive options. The water-cooled drive motors require no fresh air supply and are thus absolutely safe in the event of thermal outages. The utilisation of cutting-edge synchronous motors also achieves a maximum level of efficiency, which makes the UNTHA Eco Drive one of the most energy efficient drive systems on the market. Maintenance expenditures can be reduced to a minimum as coupling, belt, hydraulic pumps and shaft stub are no longer required.

The new XR shredder can be equipped with either the ‘ripper’ or the ‘cutter’ system. In combination with the patented XR strainer bar system, this ensures a specified fraction size of 50 – 400 mm. A resqueezing feeder placed inside the cutter system improves the feeding behaviour of the rotor, in the event of low material density, and the self-contained nature of the system, ensures an efficient processing of the entire material. The ripper teeth (rippers) can be easily replaced and the multiple use cutter plates (cutters) reduce downtime to a minimum, in the event that service is required. In addition, if extraneous materials block the reliable cutting system, the fully automatic flap for non-shreddable items ensures fast removal of the foreign object.

The machine is operated via a 7 in. touch screen colour monitor containing a visual display of all parameter settings, programs and fault alerts. Smoother and safer access to all machine components, a service platform that ensures ergonomically correct posture when working at the cutting unit, and foregoing special tools, have thus been very well received by service engineers. The compact design of the XR model range makes installation in existing systems easier, and the low filling height ensures a smooth material charge with the wheel loader.
