Wahl Refractory Solutions launches optimised precast Cooler Curbs

World Cement,

Precast refractories exhibit better density, strengths and abrasion resistance than refractory castables installed in the field. They also have the added advantages of rapid installation and no need for lengthy dry-out schedules. This is of particular benefit to the construction and repair of clinker coolers in cement kilns. Through continuous research and development, Wahl Refractory Solutions has developed a full range of refractory compositions optimised for the operating conditions in cement kilns.

Wahl’s latest precast Cooler Curbs were recently inspected in a clinker cooler commissioned in 2010 with a rated capacity of 5000 tpd. After four years in service, the Cooler Curbs exhibited low wear and demonstrated superior resistance to erosion. This made it possible for them to be left in service to run for additional campaigns.
