Orient Cement to expand Adilabad cement plant

CK Birla Group company, Orient Cement, is planning to expand its existing cement plant in Adilabad in the Indian state of Telangana.
According to local media reports, the company’s Managing Director and CEO, Deepak Khetrapal, recently met with the Telangana Industries Minister KT Rama Rao to discuss the plan, which would see capacity at the plant rise to 7.5 million tpy from the current 3.05 million tpy.
The Hindu BusinessLine reported that Khetrapal requested a limestone linkage from the Telangana State Mineral Development Corp. to supply to long-term needs of the plant.
Total investment for the project would be INR20 billion. Construction is expected to start after clearance from the Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has been received.
