Ramco expansion projects to be completed in FY2019/20

Ramco Cements is set to commission a range of expansion projects in the 2019-2020 Financial Year (FY2019/20), according to an announcement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The company is currently establishing one new clinker production line, as well as three additional grinding units.
The new line is being installed at Ramco’s Jayathipuram plant in the state of Andra Pradesh. It will add 1.5 million tpy of clinker production capacity at a cost of INR6.8 billion.
In addition, the company is expanding grinding plants at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Kolaghat in West Bengal, as well as constructing a new plant in the state of Odisha. The cost of the three projects is INR10.85 billion.
Ramco Cements sold 9.31 million t of cement in FY2017/18, an increase of almost 1 million t on the previous year and the first time sales have passed the 9 million t mark. Growth was focused in the eastern markets of India where the Visakhapatnam and Kolaghat grinding units are located.
