World Cement,
Indian cement production continued its good start to the year in March, recording a 12.93% rise on the same month last year. Production totalled 28.47 million t, well above the 25.21 million t reported in March 2017 and higher than the 27.05 million t reported in March 2016.
Year-to-date production now totals 81.74 million t, well on track for Indian cement production to finish 2018 over the 300 million t mark.
Based on the average monthly production in 1Q18, yearly production is heading for around the 326 million t mark; however, the summer Monsoon season is likely to see production slow, making it unlikely actual production will be that high.
