Cement companies roll back prices in Assam

According to multiple sources, cement companies in Assam (India) have decided to roll back cement prices after chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal held meetings with 25 cement manufacturing companies after reports of an increase in state cement prices.
Chief minister Sonowal held a discussion with the office bearers of several cement companies and sought reasons for the inordinate price rise.
"The rise in cement price has had an impact on the people. The state government is committed to bring in much desired stability in the prices of all commodities," Sonowal said.
Sonowal asked cement manufacturers to take firm measures to curb the price rise.
