UltraTech secures limestone resources in Madhya Pradesh

UltraTech Cement has secured additional limestone resources near to its recently commissioned Dhar cement plant in the state of Madhya Pradesh. According to the company announcement, the limestone block covers an area of 344.783 ha. and contains a mineable reserve of 54 million t.
The block was won via e-auction conducted by the state government of Madhya Pradesh.
“Although securing limestone in any form is part of the normal day-to-day operations of the company, as a matter of good governance, we write to inform you that the company has won the Deora-Sitapuri-Udipyapura limestone block,” said Atul daga, Whole-Time Director and Chief Financial Officer of UltraTech in a letter to the Bombay Stock Exchange. “A formal communication vesting the said limestone mines in the company’s favour is expected in due course.”
The additional reserves will “be useful for augmenting the capacity of Dhar Unit in future,” Daga concluded.
