World Cement,
The Indian cement manufacturer ACC Ltd., part of the Lafarge-Holcim Group, is benefiting from the construction boom in India and has expanded the capacity of its factory in Wadi in the south Indian state of Karnataka to 13 000 tpd. As main contractor, Beumer has a repeat order on turnkey, for a high-performance belt bucket elevator of type HGBW-HC 1250 x 175.3 m. With a distance between centres of 175.3 m, this is currently the highest in the world.
ACC’s decision was based on the reliable performance of bucket elevators supplied by Beumer in the past. The enormous size of this system enables a flow rate of around 600 tph to be achieved, ensured by high-quality steel wire belts of particularly high strength.
