UltraTech adds slag cement capacity

Indian cement maker, UltraTech, part of the Aditya Birla group, has commissioned a new slag cement production line at its existing facilities at Patliputra in the east Indian state of Bihar.

According to a release to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the new production line will ad 0.3 million tpy of manufacturing capacity to Patliputra, bolstering the company’s capabilities to meet the growing demand for slag cement in east India.

With this addition, the company’s total cement capacity now stands at 70.6 million tpy.
