Flying Cement Co. has announced plans to upgrade capacity at its existing cement plant in Pakistan, the company said in a recent statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
According to the statement, the company has signed a contract with a Chinese company for the procurement of plant and machinery to be installed at the site to bring capacity from 2000 tpd to 4000 tpd.
The company added that it was “under arrangements with National Bank of Pakistan for the import of said plant and machinery.”
Pakistan’s demand for cement has been growing rapidly on the back of infrastructure investment as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. A number of companies have announced capacity additions in recent months, while exports from the country have fallen.
