Lucky Cement reports strong results

Lucky Cement reported cement production of 5.8 million t over the nine months ending 31 March, a rise of 11.1% on the same period in 2016/17. Cement sales were up 10.2% over the same period.
Overall, cement industry dispatches in Pakistan grew by 14.7% over period to 34.8 million t, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association. Local sales volumes grew by 17.3%, while exports fell 8.2%.
The company also expects volumes to continue to grow over the last quarter of the financial year.
“Domestic sales are expected to remain strong on the back of private and public sector construction projects, as well as mega infrastructure development projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative,” the company said.
