WEBINAR - Do more with digital: enhance low-carbon cement production with artificial intelligence
This webinar will focus on how ABB and Carbon Re are working together to accelerate the decarbonisation of cement production while improving productivity. They will explore their joint solution for the cement industry, uniting ABB’s domain expertise and experience in delivering successful global automation and advanced process control (APC) projects with Carbon Re’s advanced artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cement expertise.
One of the most pressing challenges to decarbonise the cement industry is the high energy demand. Kilns are central to the current cement production process, but they are also among the most energy-intensive components. Focusing on the pyroprocess, ABB and Carbon Re, an industrial artificial intelligence provider, are working together to help cement producers accelerate decarbonisation while improving productivity.
Sharing the success of their work at Heidelberg Materials’s Mokra cement plant, ABB and Carbon Re, will demonstrate how plants can integrate Carbon Re’s AI platform on top of its existing ABB Ability™ Expert Optimizer to reduce specific energy and increase alternative fuel usage.
ABB’s Expert Optimizer helps maintain optimal kiln conditions, leading to improved energy efficiency and reduced emissions. With the addition of Carbon Re’s AI and machine learning technology, plants can further reduce their specific energy and increase kiln stability with real-time pyroprocess optimisation without intervention from the control room operator. With the addition of this AI layer, plants can add continuously updating, cloud-based optimisation software to their Expert Optimizer.
