GCCA & CBMF Conference

The 2025 International Forum on Carbon Emission Reduction of Building Materials Industry, co-hosted by the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF) and the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), will be held in Beijing China, July 22-25, 2025. During the forum, a specialised seminar on carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) will be organised, along with a site visit to cement CCUS demonstration projects.

As a major producer and consumer, China plays a significant role in advancing the low-carbon and sustainable development of the global building materials industry. In recent years, under the guiding development goal of “Superior products and advanced industry, for the benefit of mankind”, China’s building materials industry has promoted the construction of “six zero factories”, engaged in the R&D and application of original technology, cutting-edge technology and key technology, promoted the inclusion of the cement industry into the national carbon emissions trading market, launched the first batch of carbon labels for building materials, and advanced the construction of ESG system. As a result, China’s cement industry has already reached peak carbon emissions, and soon so will the building materials industry as a whole. Meanwhile the market share of green building materials products continues to grow.

This year’s forum will build on the success of previous forums, with an in-depth exploration of the latest carbon reduction technologies and innovative achievements, promoting the application of new technologies, products and equipment, and accelerating the sustainable development of the global building materials industry toward a carbon-neutral future. Two site visits are taking place during the forum where delegates will have the opportunity to travel from Beijing by high speed train to the Qingzhou, Shandong Province to visit the BBMG CCUS project and the CNBM oxyfuel project.
