Kayleigh Plant Hire has invested over £2.5 million in a fleet of new excavators to meet the needs of the booming construction industry.

The investment doubles KPH’s fleet with 41 Hitachi excavators from the ZAXIS series, which meet the new emissions regulations all machines operating in London must adhere to by 2019. KHP can now offer a complete excavator portfolio to meet any construction site requirement – from small scale house build, drainage and road works, up to larger infrastructure and commercial development projects. In addition to the new excavators, the full fleet comprises crushers, dumpers, road sweepers, screeners and telehandlers.

KHD worked closely with Hitachi to ensure the equipment met the highest possible level of standards, including the retro-fitting of green seatbelt warning beacons on all its excavators and the fitting of hand rails around the super structure on the larger plant, along with rotation circuits on all machines over 8 t.

Stuart McCabe, KPH plant manager, said: “It’s an exciting time in the KPH business at the moment and this investment comes after a long line of successes. We pride ourselves on leading the way for the provision of a complete equipment hire solution in the UK. Indeed, this deal is further demonstration of our desire to lead from the front by using future-ready machines that offer the best standards of safety for operatives.

“Importantly, in addition to plant, we also hire out our own CPCS trained plant operators on ‘an operator only basis’ so we are able to deliver a full on-site solution.”

Alongside meeting the latest industry regulations, KPH’s complete fleet is supported by a comprehensive service and maintenance solution guaranteeing reliability of its machines, keeping customer’s working day and night and maximising productivity.

Martin O’Hare from Hitachi said: “The investment in Hitachi construction machinery is unprecedented in KPH’s history and we are proud to be working with such a forward-thinking company that puts a strong emphasis on high standards and customer care.”
