HeidelbergCement’s Kaknj plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina has won the Best Buy Award in the ‘cement producer’ category in the country’s Best Buy Award Construction survey BIH 2013/2014 conducted by ICERTIAS. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1200 construction industry professionals, and for this award participants were asked to answer the question: “Specify the name of the cement producer offering the best price/quality ratio in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The largest number of responses named “Kakanj – Heidelberg”, meaning that the company is entitled to the label “Best Buy Award – No. 1 – best price/quality ratio”.

ICERTIAS is a Swiss organisation headquartered in Zurich. The Best Buy Awards seeks out the best goods and services at the most favourable price, enabling customers to have confidence in their purchases. The Best Buy Award research is conducted according to the provisions of the 'International Codex for the Implementation of Market and Social Research' adopted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the European Association of Research Experts (ESOMAR).

HeidelbergCement has been present in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2000 when it bought the majority share in Tvornica cementa Kakanj.
