100th Ad*starKON Conversion Line for Starlinger
Starlinger & Co. GmbH, Austria, has delivered its 100th ad*starKon conversion line. The conversion lines produce AD*STAR block bottom valve sacks. On the market since 1996, the brick-shaped woven polypropylene bags are suited to the level of automation required in plants handling dry bulk goods. Due to the use of hot air sealing technology that rules out the need for adhesives, the AD*STAR sacks can be fully recycled. Worldwide, annual production of the sacks stands at more than 4 billion.
The conversion lines have a production capacity of 60 sacks per minute and a total annual output of 22 million sacks. A magnetic transport system prevents holes from forming in the fabric, thereby protecting the contents from infiltration and contamination. Double unwinding stands allow for non-stop production, whilst a fabric roll monitoring system alerts the operator when a roll needs to be changed, thus avoiding downtime.
