World Cement,
This week, Tarmac will join companies from around the world at Hillhead for the bi-annual exhibition that showcases quarry machinery, equipment and services.
Tarmac’s focus this year will be on worker involvement, particularly on safety, and employer brand, showing how people are making their mark within the company. There will be a stand featuring a 360 degree pod playing videos of Tarmac employees and quarry processes, as well as an excavator simulator provided by Chepstow. The stand will be hosted by a team of graduates and higher apprentices.
Among the people featured is Dannika Bannon, who has been talking about her career and development since joining Tarmac as weighbridge supervisor to quarry manager. Dannika joined the company in the logistics team, and has since taken a number of development opportunities including becoming a Technical Member of the Institute of Quarrying and taking an intensive 18 month programme on quarry safety as well as various health, safety and environmental courses.
