Cemex recognised for environmental projects in Poland
Cemex was awarded first place in the construction sector category at the 2013 Eagles of the Polish Construction Industry Awards. The awards, which are organised by Poland’s Ministry of Transport Construction and Maritime Economy, focus on reliability, honesty and exemplary business practices within the construction sector. Cemex was recognised for its efficient use of EU funds on three projects that helped to strengthen its environmental and sustainable practices. The projects include:
- The construction of two clinker silos at the Chelm cement plant, reducing dust emissions from outdoor clinker storage and enhancing cement stability.
- A new clinker silo at the Rudniki cement plant, lowering dust emissions and improving the quality of life for the surrounding community.
- Registration of the Chelm plant in the EU’s Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
