World Cement,
Bischof + Klein, the family-owned packaging and film manufacturer, has won the German Award for Excellence in the category ‘Environmental Responsibility’. Angelika Kotscha, sustainability manager and head of the environmental protection/recycling group, accepted the prize at the DQS sustainability conference in Cologne. The jury, when discussing its reasoning, emphasised the consistency with which the company has been pursuing and developing its environmental protection concept for a number of years. The goal of solvent-free production is also impressive.
DQS, one of the largest internationally operating suppliers of management system appraisals and certification, had extended an invitation to its sustainability conference for a second time. Various aspects of sustainable management were discussed and presented by high-calibre speakers from various companies and organisations, with the focus on promoting sustainable activities throughout the entire supply chain. Also discussed were the standards for certifying management systems and reporting on sustainability in companies and organisations.
