Cemex partners with EUPAVE
Cemex in Poland has partnered with the European Concrete Paving Association (EUPAVE), a non-profit regional organisation, with the objective of promoting all aspects of cement and ready-mix concrete products to the transport infrastructure and related areas, through activities that include road safety improvement, fuel consumption reduction, traffic reduction, and sustainable construction. EUPAVE’s mission is to create constructive, proactive relations with EU stakeholders and support the sustainable development of the European transport infrastructure.
“We are aware of the importance of the development of the transport infrastructure and the improvement of significant elements in this sector, such as road safety or ecosystem impact reduction through reduced fuel consumption. Our membership in EUPAVE fits into our strategy of sustainable development and is a priority for Cemex,” says Izabella Rokicka, Cemex’s spokesperson in Poland.
The experience of Cemex in this sector is important. Just recently, the company received an award from the Polish Association of Ready-Mix Concrete Producers for the application of an innovative ready-mix concrete able to fill, within six days, two massive and densely reinforced foundation blocks of complicated geometry used to anchor bridge steel arches at the largest Polish motorway junction “Sosnica”. This innovative product, developed by Cemex, was the best solution to comply with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways requirement to use regulated pure Portland cement and basalt crushed aggregates.
