Production volumes increase at Russia’s Maltsovsky Portlandcement

Eurocement’s subsidiary, Akhangarancement, has announced that it donated around 2.2 billion som to charitable associations and initiatives in Uzbekistan in 2013. This includes 81.92 million som to Olympic and Paralympic Committees and 153.5 million som to the country’s Weightlifting Federation. In addition, 820 million som went to the Children’s Sports Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which has carried out a number of projects in the district of Akhangaran over the last few years, such as repairing school swimming pools and constructing gymnasiums. The cement producer offers charitable assistance to the district in the form of repairing the roofs of residential buildings, kindergartens, hospitals, etc. Akhangarancement has donated over 7.6 billion som to charity since it joined the Eurocement Group in 2006.

Maltsovsky Portlandcement

Russia’s Maltsovsky Portlandcement, also part of the Eurocement Group, produced 3.6 million t of cement in 2013, 17% higher than the volume produced in 2012. Located in the Bryansk region, Maltsovsky Portlandcement is the largest cement plant in the Central Federal District. Last year, it become the major supplier of cement to the Moscow region, with some 68% of the cement used on Moscow construction sites originating from the plant.

President of Eurocement Group, Mikhail Skorokhod, recently met with the Governor of the Bryansk region, Nikolai Denin, to discuss the plant’s development.

“The region is interested in further development of the company in order to ensure that industrial, housing and infrastructure construction projects have high-quality cement,” said Denin at the meeting.

“Eurocement group constantly upgrades its plants to improve product quality, reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. Since 2010 the company has received more than 400 million rubles in investments. In particular, it installed new bag filters and precipitators on rotary kilns, allowing plant emissions to meet the most stringent European standards,” added Skorokhod.
