According to reports, Italy’s antitrust authority has launched an investigation into price fixing. Buzzi Unicem, Cementir Italia, Industria Cementi Giovanni Rossi and Holcim Italia are under investigation for coordinating cement price increases. Both Buzzi Unicem and Holcim Italia told press they were confident the investigation would find that they had acted according to the law.
Earlier this year, the antitrust authority fined eight ready-mix concrete manufacturers and a consultancy €12.5 million for price fixing and market allocation.
