Tarmac at Tunstead has donated to Fairfield Endowed (C of E) Junior School in Buxton’s budget for educational trips. The school recently visited Tarmac’s quarry and cement plant and when they approached Tarmac for support with fundraising, the company donated £50.
Katrina Stein, teacher at Fairfield Endowed (C of E) Junior School, said: “Educational trips are really important to broaden our pupils’ experiences and understanding of local history, geography, the environment and the world around us. We are very grateful for Tarmac’s donation, which will be put towards a Year 6 trip to the National Holocaust Center and Museum in Nottinghamshire.”
Viv Russell, Lime & Powders Director at Tarmac’s Tunstead site, said: “We were pleased to be able to support Fairfield Junior School with funding towards educational trips. We could see how much the pupils got out of their visit to our plant recently and our donation will mean they can pay for minibuses and other costs to take trips in the future.”
