The EuLA will organise its 6th Science-Industry Roundtable on the use of lime in mortars, to take place on 30 June 2016 in Padua, Italy. The roundtable will take place directly after the 16th IBMAC conference.
Following the 2014 edition of this roundtable, this year’s edition will focus on the following key topics:
- Contributions of lime containing mortars for construction in seismic zones: The aim of this session is to discuss how the lime characteristics can provide an added value to construction in seismic zones. This morning session will focus on the following topics: seismic activity, differential setting, horizontal loading… Speakers to confirm: Pr. Kubiza, Pr. Lourenzo, Pr. Middendorf, Pr Lazerini, Pr. Gattesco, Pr. Savoia.
- Lime in the circular economy: research projects & EU funding : The aim of this session is to strengthen the knowledge (including via EU funding) on lime, within the broader debate of the "circular economy". This session will encompass a larger scope, with topics such as carbonation, recycling, waste, durability, codes/regulation, energy efficiency in buildings, etc.
