Tarmac has joined partners industry at the London Bike Show, to raise awareness of vulnerable road user safety.
Tarmac was invited by the Metropolitan Police’s cycle safety team to support Construction Logistics and Community Safety Standards (CLOCS), which promotes a consistent, nationwide specification for HGVs and aims to change driver behaviors through the delivery of progressive training.
Tarmac joined an ‘exchanging places’ event, where cyclists had the chance to get a driver’s eye view from HGV cabs and understand where to position themselves sagely on the road in relation to lorries.
Justin Waite, transport account manager at Tarmac, said: “It is always positive experience to speak with people directly at events like this, to showcase the work we’re doing, answer questions and promote better road safety for everyone. London Bike Show brings together thousands of cyclists every year and is a great opportunity to meet and engage with the general public and demonstrate our commitment to safety.”
