Eurocement President Mikhail Skorokhod visited Nevyanskiy Cement on 20 August to see the progress on the construction of a new gas-fired power plant. Contractor AGIS Engineering is building the 26.19 MW plant, and the company’s Director General was onsite to talk to Mr Skorokhod about the deadlines for construction and installation works.
The power plant, which is supplied by Wärtsilä, is being built as part of Eurocement’s plan for distributed power to increase the energy efficiency of Russia’s cement industry. The Nevyanskiy project is a pilot project and its results will form the basis of the programme as a whole. Mr Skorokhod said that he is keen to operate the power plant with Russian materials, such as fuels and lubricants.
