30th anniversary of Sandvik’s Wilhelm Haglund Medal

This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the ‘Wilhemlm Haglund Medal for the product developer of the year’. The award is a prestigious acknowledgement within Sandvik to important industrial innovations with significant customer benefits and commercial value for the company.

The Wilhelm Haglund Medal for ‘product developer of the year’ has been a warded since 1986 and is named after Sandvik’s legendaryManaging Director Wilhelm Haglund, who laid the foundations for Sandvik’ssuccess in the cemented-carbide area. He was appointed managing director in 1958 and held the position until his retirement in 1967.

For the 2016 jubilee, seven high-quality nominations have been made, representing several of Sandvik’s areas of expertise. The winner will be presented at the AGM on 28 April 2016, and will be selected by a jury chaired by Sandvik’s President and CEO Björn Rosengren.

In total, 64 employees have received the award and in several cases it has been given to a team of employees.
