Ninth annual SafeCom conference attracts over 130 delegates

World Cement,

The ninth annual SafeCom regulatory conference took place on 7 March, attracting global interest. With over 130 delegates in attendance, the conference provided a networking platform and an opportunity to review the latest chemical regulatory changes affecting the industry. Presentations focused on CLP/GHS, REACH, the Extended SDS, Transport Regulations and the new Biocidal Product Regulation. Alongside the conference was an industry-related exhibition.

Delegates praised the attention to Emergency Response and the insight into what important information should be included on a Safety Data Sheet when dealing with medical emergencies through the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS).

Another conference is planned for next year. It is hosted by Safeware Quasar, a company that provides automated Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS or SDS) authoring software, specialist EH&S chemical management services and consultancy for the classification, labelling and hazard communication of chemicals.
