World Cement,

Spanish cement association Oficemen has confirmed that domestic cement consumption totalled approximately 10.89 million t in 2014. This is in line with its previous forecast that consumption levels would remain below 11 million t. While remaining at a historically low level, consumption did rise by 0.4% y/y, the first case of annual year-on-year growth since 2007. Meanwhile, production volumes increased by 5.4% y/y to reach around 13.91 million t. Exports continued to strengthen, growing by 31.6% y/y to almost 9.6 million t.

Oficemen has predicted moderate growth for the Spanish cement industry in 2015, with monthly figures likely to fluctuate between growth and contraction.
