World Cement,
Cement consumption in Spain has fallen by 3.3% in April, standing at 946 329 t. This figure is 32 478 t less than a year ago. This data supports the negative trend in consumption during the first four months of 2016, down 1.2%, bringing the cumulative total to 3 512 140 t.
CEO of Oficemen, Aniceto Zaragoza comments, "Exports fell 18% last month, a fact that added to the negative development of the domestic market, raising fears for the future of the sector."
Oficemen consider taking urgent measures to promote the recovery of domestic consumption and encourage the sector's competitiveness internationally.
