Steppe Cement ends 2013 with a 17% share of Kazakhstan’s cement market
Kazakhstan’s Steppe Cement has released its preliminary results for the year ending 31 December 2013. The cement producer achieved a revenue of KZT19.5 billion, representing an increase of 9% y/y. Cement sales volumes reached approximately 1.37 million t, up from 1.35 million t in 2012. Steppe Cement finished the year with a 17% share of Kazakhstan’s cement market.
Steppe Cement is continuing to commission its fifth line and, weather permitting, will begin the milling and circulation of raw mill this month, in addition to running the coal mill and testing the kiln and cooler.
The company will publish its full and audited accounts in April 2014.
Kazakhstan’s cement industry grew by around 13% to 1.8 million t in 2013. Around 1.5 million t of cement was imported into the country and 0.2 million t was exported during the year.
