Atlas Copco turns 140
Atlas Copco is celebrating its 140th anniversary by holding a range of events in over 90 countries. A special celebration will be held in the UK and Ireland to mark the many years of operation since the company was founded in 1873, and the company will also donate 140 cycle helmets to local schools and colleges. Amongst the many activities taking place is the inauguration of a new compressor manufacturing plant near Pune, India, as well a £38 000 donation to ‘All’, USA, to go towards safe drinking water projects. Also in the US, Atlas Copco President and CEO Ronnie Leten will ring the opening bell at the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York. In addition, the firm has created an e-book and podcast of its history.
