FLSmidth awarded contract by CRH Group

World Cement,

FLSmidth has been awarded a contract for process and quality optimisation of 17 cement plants that have recently been acquired by the CRH Group, based in Dublin, using FLSmidth’s ECS/ProcessExpert® and QCX/BlendExpert(TM) products.

FLSmidth’s ECS/ProcessExpert system stabilises the process of the plant, optimizes the production, manages and corrects process disruptions and minimizes wear on plant equipment, so as to ensure optimum plant performance. Improving the availability and utilisation of equipment helps the system to reduce operational and maintenance costs. FLSmidth’s QCX/BlendExpert system controls the proportioning of raw materials feed to raw mills to obtain the desired chemical product quality with respect to chemical constraints and material costs.

The order is the largest advanced process optimisation project that FLSmidth has been awarded. It includes process optimisation of 40 grinding mills and 12 kilns, as well as quality optimisation of 14 raw mills. Additionally, a service agreement is included in the order, covering all 66 applications, where FLSmidth will provide 24/7 supports and ongoing remote monitoring and optimisation by its process specialists.
