alcemy launches Foundation Partnership and unveils roadmap for autonomous cement and concrete production

alcemy, the leading AI-driven cement and concrete quality optimisation platform, today announced the launch of the alcemy Foundation Partnership and unveiled its roadmap toward autonomous cement and concrete production. After eight years of operating real-time AI control across 45 cement and over 160 concrete plants in 18 countries, alcemy is now expanding its vision. The company is moving beyond individual AI applications to help producers build the data infrastructure, organisational capabilities, and AI platform required to unlock the industry's full potential in decarbonisation, productivity, and workforce transformation.

Today's announcement introduces three key milestones on that journey:

The company today unveiled the alcemy Foundation Partnership, a first-of-its-kind program that tackles the central barrier to scaling AI: turning isolated proof-of-concept wins into reliable, enterprise-wide deployment. Many producers have piloted AI tools only to see initiatives stall because they lack the organisational infrastructure required to roll out AI systems across all plants and sustain ROI over time.

The alcemy Foundation Partnership is a comprehensive co-development program designed to close this gap by helping producers build lasting competitive advantage through data infrastructure and workforce capability. Under the tagline "Your data. Your people. Your platform," the program helps producers establish a unified AI-ready data backbone in their own AWS or cloud account that unifies fragmented data from PLCs, SCADA systems, LIMS, SAP, MES and retrofitted sensors into a single foundation supporting numerous AI applications simultaneously. Because every application builds on the same foundation, integration times shrink dramatically and each additional AI system can be deployed faster, at significantly lower cost.

Critically, the alcemy Foundation Partnership embeds the human capabilities required to sustain AI at scale. A producer's internal champions receive dedicated alcemy mentors and hands-on training to build their own dashboards and applications, manage third-party AI systems and drive adoption. The partnership begins with a shared discovery phase including an AI readiness assessment, an architectural vision and organisational blueprint before transitioning into long-term co-development.

Upskilling and change management happen alongside technical deployment. The result is a self-reinforcing flywheel: better data infrastructure enables better AI applications. alcemy for Cement: Unlocking Autonomous Mill Operations

Mill optimisation is the ideal starting point for enterprise AI adoption because it delivers measurable ROI quickly while establishing the operational confidence and cultural momentum required for broader transformation.

To move toward fully autonomous mill operation, alcemy is expanding both its optimisation capabilities and its integration ecosystem. Over the past year, alcemy has advanced autonomous mill optimisation on three fronts. First, the company introduced Dual Steering, enabling simultaneous optimisation of fineness and recipe parameters. Second, it extended coverage to a wider set of grinding set-ups, including additional separate-grinding lines and pure slag grinding applications. Third, it proved reliable optimisation even in plants with limited laboratory infrastructure, showing that significant gains can be achieved with as little as sieve analysis and XRF data.

To enable plant teams to run their mills fully autonomously while freeing up time for higher-value operational tasks, alcemy is extending both its data capabilities and steering capabilities.

More data, more optimisation variables: Integrating additional process data, online analysers and performance enhancers as optimisation variables will further increase optimisation potential.

Plug & Play integrations: alcemy seamlessly connects producers' data infrastructure through deeper native integrations with process automation leaders. Earlier this year, alcemy formed a strategic partnership with ABB, the first in a broader effort to deepen interoperability across the automation ecosystem. Together, the companies are developing tighter integration between alcemy's AI-powered prediction and optimisation technology and ABB's Advanced Process Control and Plant Information Management systems, enabling faster deployments and a smoother path toward autonomous mill operations. More than one-third of alcemy's cement customers already operate the technology in closed loop.

alcemy for Concrete: Autonomous Recipe Control

After five years examining concrete production from every angle, alcemy has identified recipe optimisation as the industry's greatest opportunity. alcemy is developing an AI recipe optimiser designed to accelerate feedback cycles and support active cement reduction, enabling customers to reduce cement content by 5 to 30 kilograms per cubic meter.

Where many producers still operate on six-month adjustment cycles, alcemy's platform combines real-time monitoring of water additions, consistency and recipe stability to enable continuous, data-driven optimisation.

This capability is becoming increasingly important as ready-mix producers shift from commodity production toward performance-driven manufacturing. Success increasingly depends on customer-specific performance requirements, variable aggregate sources and more complex material systems.
