World Cement,
Knauf has purchased two heavy-duty hydraulic breakers to work in the Ukraine.
The Rammer Large Range breakers are being used to improve limestone extraction productivity at quarries in the Ternopol and Donetsk regions of the country.
Knauf Ukraine purchased its first Rammer 3288 breaker back in 2012 from Rammer’s dealer in the Ukraine, Rock Service. The breaker was fitted to a Volvo EC 460 BLC and was operated at the Knauf Gyps Donbass quarry, with Rock Service providing a warranty and full support for the breaker’s operation.
This year Knauf planned to increase its production in the Ukraine, and to do so required two more breakers. The company turned to Rammer and Rock Service, with the new equipment recently being delivered for use at its quarries in the Ternopol and Donetsk regions.
The new breakers comprise of a new Rammer 4099 that has been installed on a Liebherr R954 excavator for use in Donetsk. The second breaker is another Rammer 3288 that was purchased for limestone sledging, this time for use at Knauf’s Ternopol quarry, being fitted to a Liebherr R944. The latter model was selected due to its ability to offer impressive output power but at the same time possessing a relatively low weight of 2400 kg. This combination eliminates possible damage to the boom being caused by overload thereby delivering continual highly productive performance.
The hydraulic breakers in the Rammer Large Range were designed to operate under the toughest operating conditions.
