Breedon Aggregates appoints new HR Director

Breedon Aggregates has appointed Steve Tagg as its first HR director, with additional responsibility for overseeing group safety. Steve will take up his new role on 23 May, and will join Breedon’s executive committee. In addition to his HR responsibilities he will also oversee group safety and will play a key role in the integration of Hope.
Until recently, Steve was organisation and human resources director at Aggregate Industries, where he spent 21 years in senior HR roles, 18 of them on the executive committee. Three years ago he also took on responsibility for the company’s health and safety. He previously worked in HR with British Coal.
Commenting on his appointment Pat Ward, Breedon’s group chief executive, said:“Steve is an exceptionally skilled HR professional with an outstanding track record inour industry and we’re very fortunate that he’s agreed to join us. I look forward toworking with him to create a world-class, safe working environment for all ourpeople, drawing on best practice from both Breedon and Hope. Steve will be focusing particularly sharply on raising the bar in our training anddevelopment programmes, as we strive to give all our colleagues the expertise andtools they need to excel at their jobs and achieve their full potential.”
