EUPAVE appoints new President and Vice President

Appointments

EUPAVE has appointed Stéphane Nicoud as President and André Burger as Vice President. Nicoud’s experience within the building materials sector includes positions at Tarmac International in Germany and at Holcim in Switzerland. Burger began working in the cement industry in 1989 and is currently the Director of the Dutch cement industry association. Nicoud and Burger are taking over from Oficemen’s Aniceto Zaragoza Ramirez and Britpave Barrier Systems’ David Jones, who stood down from their positions at EUPAVE’s board meeting in October 2013.

Ukraine cement statistics

Elsewhere in Europe, cement production in the Ukraine reached 816 000 t in November 2013, this is 16.2% higher than in November 2012 but 13.7% lower than in the previous month of October 2013. On an accumulated basis, cement production in the first 11 months of 2013 fell by 1.4% y/y to 9.329 million t.
