Cement stocks climb

In the morning trade on 18 August 2015, cement stocks gained.

Ambuja Cements was up 1.29%, ACC rose 1.37%, UltraTech Cement also rose 1.4% and Shree Cement climbed 1.28%.

Grasim Industries was up 1.56% at Rs 3737.90. Grasim has exposure to cement sector through its holding in UltraTech Cement.

US stocks closed higher on 17 August 2015 after the release of positive homebuilder data.

US homebuilder sentiment rose in August to its highest level since a matching reading almost a decade ago, the National Association of Home Builders announced.
