Peterburgtsement expands rail links

The Peterburgtsement Company finalised work on the commissioning of an updated receiving-departure railway park.

Railroad tracks in the Slantsy cement plant have been operating since 2011.

The project in the park will increase the total length of railways by more than 1.5 km. This will enable the parking of 120 cars, or two trains. In addition, there is now more room for manoeuvring locomotives and incoming and outgoing trains do not interfere with each other.

The receiving and dispatch park is almost ready for commissioning.

The share of shipments of finished goods transported by rail is currently small - only approximately 2%. However, the company, together with the holding group Eurocement, is actively working on finding new customers, and it is possible that the share of rail deliveries to neighbouring regions and countries will gradually increase.
