Kreisel announces takeover of Schäffer Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG
Kreisel GmbH & Co. KG has announced that it has taken over Schäffer Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, an insolvent bulk material specialist based in southern Germany. The company manufactures bulk material mountings and power units at its facility in Thierhaupten near Augsburg. It declared insolvency in November 2013.
Kresiel’s takeover plan means that the newly founded Schäffer Verfahrenstechnik GmbH will be able to continue its operations at Thierhaupten and retain its 30 or so employees. Mario Sonntag, formerly Head of Purchasing and Materials Management at Kresiel’s headquarters in Krauschwitz, will assume management responsibilities.
Through the takeover, Kreisel will expand its product range and strengthen its position in southern Germany.
"The Schäffer-products, among other things screw feeders and lump breakers, are a suitable supplement and extension of our product range," said Kreisel’s Managing Director Wolfram Kreisel. "This location allows us to strengthen our distribution network and optimise our service in the south of Germany."Adapted from press release by Louise Fordham
