World Cement,
At this year’s Saint-Gobain Construction Products UK Supplier Conference and Awards, Mondi Industrial Bags received the ‘Limiting Environmental Impact Award’. The panel of Saint-Gobain UK board members and senior managers considered all submissions in terms of how businesses are limiting their impact on the environments against the following criteria: environmental accidents, CO2 emissions, water use, raw material use and landfill waste.
Commenting on Mondi’s recognition in this regard and in particular its efforts in CO2 emissions reduction, Christian Ramaseder, Mondi Group environmental manager, said, “We believe our energy-intensive industry has a role to play in reducing its impact on the climate and we fully consider climate change in our business decisions. While we are proud of our achievement thus far, our journey is by no means complete. Our long-term aim is to continue to improve our energy efficiency, further reduce carbon intensity and move further towards renewable energy.”
