New visitor record at the open day at the Rohrdorf cement plant

World Cement,

Last Saturday's open day at the Rohrdorf cement plant was a complete success. Around 3500 visitors were able to get an idea of the plant and cement production on a total of 60 guided tours. At nine stations, measures were explained and systems were shown that already enable CO2-reduced cement production and will be CO2-neutral by 2038.

The visitors really enjoyed the entertainment and information on offer. They were particularly interested in Rohrdorf's initiatives for climate-neutral production. The children enjoyed the gold panning stations, the sandpit and the Innomotics drone workshop. The factory's own quarry vehicles and the rotary kiln impressed visitors both big and small due to their dimensions.

At the end of their tour, many guests took advantage of the opportunity to sit down in the marquee for a hearty snack. They were served and looked after in the marquee by the company's own canteen team and our employees.

Many guests were surprised by the prices - 1 euro per drink or meal - and often generously rounded up when they learned that Rohrdorfer would donate all proceeds in equal parts to the BRK Rohrdorf, the Rohrdorf fire department and the Rohrdorf social welfare organisation. The total donation amount will be announced shortly.
