New plant manager appointed at Carboneras

LafargeHolcim Spain has appointed Sergio Martínez Hernández as the new plant manager at the Carboneras cement plant. In the role, Martínez Hernández will be responsible for the development strategy of the plant, as well health and safety, sustainability and energy efficiency.
Martínez Hernández joined Holcim, which merged with Lafarge in 2015 to form LafargeHolcim, in 1993 after completing studying engineering at ETSII in Madrid.
Since joining the company he has held roles as head of maintenance, head of production and plant manager at a number of LafargeHolcim cement plants, including the Portland plant in Colorado, US, where he was plant manager.
Since returning to Spain, Martínez Hernández has managed the company’s CAPEX and Performance at LafargeHolcim Spain.
